Nature

The yellow-marked circular route to Lac du Val Joyeux starts at Place du Champ de Foire. The walking path around the lake is 6 km long and takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. At Lac du Val Joyeux, there are facilities for swimming, fishing, pedal boating, playing tennis, beach volleyball and pétanque.

Culture

The romantic ruins of the 15th-century Château de Vaujours lie within their moats and feature numerous round towers. In the upper courtyard are the remains of the stately residence, the keep and the castle chapel, all built in the 15th century. The ruins have been protected as a historic monument since 26 January 1989.

The Grande Maison is an 18th-century building and has housed the town hall since 1991. It is surrounded by an English-style park that is open to the public.

A circular route passes by the Menhir de la Pierre. At 3.70 m high, the menhir is considered the tallest menhir in the département. The circular route also runs along the old forge district, whose operation produced more than 150 tonnes of iron per year in the mid-18th century. The portal of the church in Château-la-Vallière dates from the 12th century.
