Bossay-Sur-Claise: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The parish church of Saint-Martin stands in Bossay-sur-Claise and has been fully classified as a historic monument since 8 July 1911. It was rebuilt in the 12th century, remodelled later and extended in 1883. A section of the façade of the original church and a blind Romanesque portal on the north wall have also been preserved.

Buildings and local history

The Château de Bossay has been partially listed as a historic monument since 16 November 1995. It is a private former feudal fortress; only the square keep from the 12th century has been preserved. The keep retains a wall-walk, projecting corner turrets and tracery windows.

The nave of the Chapelle Saint-Lifard, also known as Saint-Leoffard, was built around 1484 and later converted into a private residence. A brick washhouse stands around the Fontaine Saint-Fiacre.

Paths through the countryside

The “Sur la piste du Château Rose” hiking trail is 12.1 kilometres long.

The Voie Verte through Bossay-sur-Claise follows a converted former railway line and is reserved exclusively for cyclists and hikers. The 42-kilometre Voie Verte runs through Bossay-sur-Claise as well as through unspoilt landscapes and the green valley of the Claise.
