Sornay: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Sornay is bordered by the two rivers Sâne Morte and Seille. The hamlet of Lusigny in the municipality of Sornay is located immediately above the Seille. The 15-kilometre, very easy “Randonnée du bocage sornaysien” hike leads through the Bresse bocage. On the SO2 hiking trail, visitors can admire several traditional Bresse farmhouses with timber framing. Along the route of the “Randonnée du bocage sornaysien”, visitors can also discover several Bresse farmhouses and market-gardening operations.

Village Life

Sornay is a village of market gardeners and horticulturists. A market is held in Sornay on Saturday mornings.

Culture

The Château de Lusigny is now a place for meeting, humanist exchange, reflection, and sharing knowledge and expertise. It is flanked by a chapel that dates back at least in part to the Middle Ages.

Services are held at the Protestant Temple on the Route du Temple in Sornay at 11:00 a.m. on the second and fourth Sunday of each month.

Fishing

At the Coupures de Sornay, members of the AAPPMA of Saône-et-Loire and anglers with a fishing permit bearing the CHI, EHGO, or URNE stamps are permitted to fish.
