Mont Rome-Château is part of the Natura 2000 SCI FR2600973 protected area “Pelouses et forêts calcicoles de la Côte et arrière-Côte de Beaune”. Its cliffs are a well-known climbing area with more than 80 equipped routes.

Culture
The Église Saint-Saturnin in Saint-Sernin-du-Plain was listed as a historic monument by decree of 28 July 1987. It features construction phases from the last quarter of the 12th century as well as the 13th, 16th and 17th centuries. Local shell limestone was used for the rendered walls, and arkose for the ashlar masonry.
