Culture and History
The Moulin de Clémencey, including its technical equipment and the associated land, has been protected as a Historic Monument by an entry decision dated 11 October 2021. The mill used millstones to produce animal feed and roller mills to produce flour for bread; it ceased operating in 1993.
The Château de Charnay is a brick building with an L-shaped floor plan, a main building and an elongated pavilion attached on the right. Its main construction phase dates from the mid-17th century. According to tradition, the château replaced a castle that had been destroyed by the Comtois on 14 April 1640.
The Church of Saint-Denis in Frangy-en-Bresse dates from the 16th century. Its main altar reredos contains statues of Saint Denis and Saint Jerome. The tomb slab of Guy de Courlaou, parish priest of Frangy, dates from the 14th century.
