Nature

Tintury is located in the type 2 ZNIEFF area “Vallée de l'Aron et forêt de Vincence”. The area to which Tintury belongs is of regional interest because of its numerous habitats around bodies of water as well as in forests and meadows, and because of the animal and plant species associated with them.

Hiking

The circular hiking trail “Circuit entre étang et forêt de Vincence” starts and ends in Tintury. It is 18.7 kilometres long and leads from Étang de Fleury to the centre of the forest of Vincence.

Culture and history

Tintury is home to the parish church of Saint-Fiacre, which was built from 1886 onwards. Its floor plan is in the shape of a Latin cross; its architectural features include stained-glass windows.

The parish of Tintury has existed since the end of the 11th century. Two rigid Celtic torcs, or neck rings, were found at the site of La Justice. Several Gallo-Roman remains near Fleury-la-Tour attest to the presence of active communities in the area of Tintury.

Saint Fiacre is the patron saint of Tintury; he is celebrated every year at the end of August or on the first Sunday in September.

The tower “la bonde de l'étang” dates from the 15th century. A monk lived in this tower to regulate the drainage of the pond and access to fishing.

The “pierre à cupule” and the Vallon de Touteuille are considered places of interest.
