Ternant: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Culture
The Church of Saint-Roch in Ternant houses the Ternant triptychs, two 15th-century triptych altarpieces. They are made of carved, painted and gilded wood and originate from Flemish and Brabant workshops. The triptychs have been classified as historic monuments since 1881.
The Marian altarpiece depicts seven episodes from the life of the Virgin Mary. It was created between 1444 and 1454; its central panel depicts the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.
The Passion altarpiece was created in 1460 in a Brabant workshop. It depicts scenes from the Passion and the glorification of Christ. The parish church of Saint-Roch itself was built in 1820.
