Nature
The Fontaine des Bougers consists of three pools of clear water and features water lilies in season. It is also a peaceful spot by the water. The Fontaine de la Vache is a spring created by the reappearance of water in a natural pool.
Culture and History
Slag at the La Vache blast furnace bears witness to two centuries of activity and to as many as 100 workers employed there. Since 1995, the Domaine des Forges de la Vache has served as a cultural venue with sculpture exhibitions and classical music concerts. It also preserves an authentic 18th-century blast furnace.
Local tradition attributes to the Fontaine de la Vache the story that Saint Louis dispensed justice there. In the immediate vicinity of Raveau are the Château de Gérigny, the Prieuré Notre-Dame and the Église Notre-Dame de La Charité-sur-Loire. Further afield in the region around Raveau are the Abbaye cistercienne de Notre-Dame and the Île de Cosne.
Hiking
The Fontaine en Bertranges circular hiking trail leads to the Fontaine des Bougers, where hikers can take a break.
