Culture and History
The statue of Notre-Dame Trouvée with the infant Jesus dates from the late 12th or early 13th century. It is associated with the tradition of its miraculous discovery in the rubble of a chapel fire, as well as with a history of pilgrimages.
The Chapelle Notre-Dame-Trouvée is a pilgrimage chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is said to have been built on the site of an earlier structure that, according to Abbé Courtépée, was erected in 1061.
The Port de Pouilly-en-Auxois also bears historical traces: it dates from the second quarter of the 19th century and is dated to 1830. Today, the Port de Pouilly-en-Auxois is used as a marina.
The Halle du Toueur adds a contemporary accent. The building was designed by Shigeru Ban and houses an electric river tug dating from 1893.

The Billebaude 3.333 offers a two-hour trip on the Canal de Bourgogne through the illuminated Voûte de Pouilly. The route passes through the 3.333-kilometre canal tunnel beneath Pouilly-en-Auxois.

At the Fournil de l’Auxois, successive bakers have always baked exclusively with sourdough made from organically produced flour from the stone mill, using a short supply chain.
