Laperrière-Sur-Saône: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Nature

The Étang du Milieu ZNIEFF area, also known as Étang de Laperrière, also includes Laperrière-sur-Saône. The area consists of two ponds in a varied landscape in the Saône Valley, with wet meadows, smaller cultivated areas and woodland.

During migration and the wintering period, the ponds are of particular importance to waterfowl and waders.

History

Work on the Canal du Rhône au Rhin began in 1784. The Saint-Symphorien–Dole section was completed in 1802.

The inhabitants of Laperrière-sur-Saône are no longer protected by the castle, but by the fortification walls of Auxonne, which were considered safer. At the beginning of the 16th century, Laperrière-sur-Saône definitively became French.

Culture

The Church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine in Laperrière-sur-Saône was rebuilt in the 18th century. Its furnishings include a high altar with tabernacle, an altarpiece and a painting of Saint Mary Magdalene after Lebrun; these furnishings are protected as historic monuments.

By prior arrangement, Daniel Gaudin opens the doors to his woodworking workshop in the morning. A sword and a scabbard were dredged from the Saône near Laperrière-sur-Saône. The sword with scabbard recovered there is assigned to the Musée Vivant Denon in Chalon-sur-Saône.

By the water

On the banks of the Saône, the Voie bleue provides an opportunity to walk from Laperrière-sur-Saône to Saint-Jean-de-Losne. Fishing is one of the activities on the banks of the Saône in Laperrière-sur-Saône.
