The Château de Corcelles originally emerged in the 11th century from a motte, to which the Saint-Étienne de Beaune priory added a monastic “cella”. The fortified house from the 12th century has a square tower, round towers, turrets and curtain walls surrounding a square courtyard.

Culture and history

The Château de Corcelles-les-Arts is partially protected as a historic monument. The façades and roofs of the château, the outbuildings and the dovecote have been protected under the decree of 4 February 1976.

The Église Saint-Pierre houses the tombstone of Claude-Bernarde Berbis de Longecourt and Claude Berbis de Corcelles. It has been protected as an object under heritage protection since 8 June 1984.

A cenotaph of Claude-Bernarde Berbis de Longecourt has also been preserved.

Under Louis XIV, the Loppin family built the Château de Masse to replace an older château. The classical ensemble consists of two symmetrical pavilions; one was intended as a residence, the other as a wine cellar.

The Pigeonnier de Masse is well preserved both inside and out and is a relic of Masse’s former fortified house. It has space for 1,800 nests.

The restored Château de Masse is still inhabited. At the entrance to Masse, it can easily be admired from the direction of Corcelles.

The Château de Corcelles is recommended as local cultural heritage and can be admired during a walk through the village.
