The Church of Saint John the Baptist – with the exception of its bell tower – was listed as a historic monument by decree of 28 December 1978. Its Romanesque nave is enclosed by a porch that is particularly characteristic of this region, known as a “ganivelle”.

The church houses the carved and painted wooden statue “Saint Jean-Baptiste le décollé”, dating from the 18th century. Since November 2023, this wooden statue in Saint-Jean-Saint-Gervais has been protected as a historic monument. A text from the beginning of the 11th century mentions two sanctuaries: one dedicated to Saint Gervais and another, referred to as a baptistery, dedicated to Saint John. Themed tours of the site also include the spring described as “miraculous”.
