Hiking and Landscape
The 10 km circular hiking route Les Plantades in Avèze has a stated duration of three hours. It begins at a signpost near Avèze town hall on the D987. Les Plantades offers views of the Dordogne Valley and the Sancy Massif. Avèze also has an arboretum.

Culture and History
The Romanesque Church of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption in Avèze is well worth a visit. It has a Baroque altarpiece and polychrome wooden statues.
The main building of Château de Chazelles was probably constructed at the beginning of the 17th century. The main door of Château de Chazelles was renewed in 1691. The rectangular main building is flanked by four corner towers.

Traditions
Every July, around 30 volunteers make the roses and floats for Avèze’s flower tradition. The traditional parade of flower floats in Avèze takes place every year on 15 August during the patronal festival.
Local Specialities
The Ferme des Croix de Chazelles offers demonstrations of cheese-making and tastings lasting around one hour. Bleu d’Auvergne and Fourme d’Ambert with AOP protection are sold there.
