Gelles: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Gelles is initially choosing the town itself as a destination. A specific route leads from Gelles to the ruins of the Château des seigneurs de Banson, the Étang de Banson and the Chapelle de Banson.
Hiking Routes
The L’étang de Banson route is a 12.5 km circular trail with a stated duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes. In Gelles, there is a car park for this trail opposite the Maison familiale et rurale, and an information sign at the starting point.
Culture
The church of Saint-Georges was first mentioned on 15 June 1165. Its bell tower was built in 1691 by Jacob Chardon from the parish of Pontgibaud. On 18 June 1739, the church was severely damaged in the fire that devastated the village of Gelles.

GAEC Sudre offers visitors insights into milk and cheese production, as well as tastings of the AOP cheeses Bleu d’Auvergne and Fourme d’Ambert produced and matured on the farm.
GAEC Mélodie processes some of the milk produced on the farm into AOP Fourme d’Ambert cheese.
Nature
The Cascade de Say is a waterfall that forms a stream bed strewn with rocks. The descent and the area around the Cascade de Say can be slippery. The waterfall can be reached via a path from the car park next to the information sign; the round trip takes 20 minutes.
The La roche branlante de Gelles route offers views of the region and its volcanoes.
