Ytrac: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

The Château d'Ytrac is one of the castles that can be visited in Ytrac. Arsène Vermenouze was born on 26 September 1850 in Vielle, in the municipality of Ytrac. He was a leading figure and a symbol of the renaissance of the langue d'oc in Cantal.

The Church of Saint-Julien d'Ytrac was rebuilt in 1844 based on a 12th-century church; some traces of this older church have been preserved in parts of the vaulting. Its furnishings include Byzantine frescoes by the Russian painter Nicolaï Greschny.

Paths and landscape

The Sentier de la Poésie is a 2.4-km-long, very easy hiking trail with a walking time of about one hour.

The Forêt de Branviel offers opportunities for hiking, cycling and horse riding. Several paths provide access to the local flora and fauna, which can be discovered there. There is nearby parking at the Forêt de Branviel, as well as an information board.

Cycling

The Tour d'Ytrac mountain bike circuit alternates between short technical sections and wide, easily rideable paths. It starts in the library car park at the entrance to Ytrac.

The first section of the Ytrac–Sansac-de-Marmiesse mountain bike circuit runs through a forest and is suitable for beginners and family outings. The Ytrac–Le Barrage mountain bike route connects the Aurillac basin with Lac de Saint-Etienne-Cantalès and passes through bocage landscapes.
