Iholdy: Holiday apartments and houses
Culture
The Château d'Olce was rebuilt in the mid-17th century, in 1664, by Bishop Jean d'Olce on older structures. The vestibule of the Church of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist preserves gravestones and disc-shaped steles.
The Chapelle Saint-Blaise, formerly called Chapelle d'Oxarty, was built in 1594 and is dedicated to Saint Blaise. It attracts pilgrims every year: a pilgrimage for children takes place on Whit Monday, and on 3 February farmers from the canton of Iholdy pray for the health and prosperity of their livestock.
The parish church of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist was founded in the Middle Ages; its structure appears to have been altered several times in the 17th century. The dates 1605 and 1693 are engraved on the lintels of the entrance and the portal, respectively.
Hiking
The Sentier des contrebandiers has an equestrian variant from Iholdy to Lasse. Hoxahandia is an 11.2 km circular hiking trail that takes around four hours and is rated moderately difficult. The route leads to the 577 m-high summit of Hoxa Handia; from there, it offers views of Pic d'Orhy and the Crêtes d'Iparla.
