Arudy: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Chapelle Saint-Michel was built by the municipality of Arudy after the last plague epidemic, which lasted from 1652 to 1654. The Musée d’Ossau has been awarded the Musée de France designation and is housed in a former 17th-century lay abbey that is listed as a historic monument. The museum presents collections from the Parc National des Pyrénées as well as content on palaeontology, archaeology, geology and ethnography. Its four presentation levels include an archaeology gallery, areas dedicated to the national park and temporary exhibitions, audiovisual content, and the ethnography of the Vallée d’Ossau.

Trails

In Arudy, the Circuit patrimoine des pierres is a very easy, family-friendly 2.3-kilometre walking circuit that takes around one hour. It showcases a variety of architecture made from carved and engraved stones, whose design has been documented since the 15th century.

The Le Larroun trail leads close to the Grotte de Malarode. The cave is a prehistoric settlement site discovered during excavations in the 20th century. It is closed to the public and now serves as a habitat for various bat species.

Nature

Lac Ducrest is located on the Route du Bager in Arudy. The lake offers opportunities for fishing and walking, as well as a picnic area and a shaded area.

Family

Randoland is a fun family rally in Arudy, organised as a treasure hunt to discover the town’s historical, architectural and natural heritage.
