On the road to Bézille, a washhouse lies beneath a bridge in the village of Bézille. Another notable building is the preserved square Donjon de Fauguerolles, which is listed as a “Monument historique”. It was built on the ancient Roman road that connected Agen, Eysses and Périgueux. Its architecture appears to date from the late 13th or early 14th century. The donjon consists of a square tower with three non-vaulted levels; two of its corners are reinforced by buttresses.
The village was originally called Fauguerolles. The former village comprised the two parishes of Saint-Caprais-de-Boussorp and Saint-Pierre-de-la-Feuille.
Nature
In the north, the Bernou circular trail combines panoramic sections with wooded and shady paths, while in the south it follows rural tracks. Along the way, it passes the Tour ronde, which visitors can discover, and the Château de Fauguerolles, which visitors can also discover.
The Bézille circular trail also passes through the countryside: it crosses the N21 twice and runs through a steep valley where the small Carretterie stream flows. In the hollow of the circular trail, the paths are mostly shaded.
