Nature
Labouheyre is located in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne forest. At the same time, the town lies in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park, a large protected area. Lac du Barit, a 2-hectare natural body of water, is located near the town centre. Lac de Peyre is a 9-hectare protected natural area.

Leisure
A walking path leads around Lac de Peyre. Swimming at Lac de Peyre beach is permitted from 1 July to 31 August, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., under the supervision of trained lifeguards. Aqua Warriors offers inflatable games suitable for all age groups.
Lac du Barit has a designated fishing area that is accessible year-round, including for people with reduced mobility. The “De Luë à Labouheyre” cycle route follows a forest cycling path to the entrance of Labouheyre.
Culture and History
The Maison de la Photographie des Landes bears the “Maison des Illustres” designation and hosts exhibitions that are open to everyone. It is housed in a typical Landes home that was once the residence of Félix Arnaudin. On Place de la Mairie, the plane-tree pergola has been recognised as part of the “Arbres remarquables de France” distinction.
In the Middle Ages, the Fontaine Saint-Jacques served as a resting place for pilgrims travelling from Tours to Santiago de Compostela; today, it has been developed as a place for walks. The Church of Saint-Jacques is located in Labouheyre, which lies along the Via Turonensis, the route from Tours to Santiago de Compostela.
The cultural programme also includes various facilities: Cinéma Le Félix is classified as “Art et Essai” and bears the “Jeune public” designation. The Médiathèque Jean-Louis Villenave includes the Micro-Folie de Labouheyre, with a digital museum and a virtual reality area where cultural content is available free of charge.
Geographical Location
Labouheyre is served by an SNCF railway station and has direct access to the A63 motorway.
