Culture

The Sainte-Quitterie Church in Gastes is a medieval building that was remodelled in the 19th century and dedicated to Saint Quitterie.

Its bell-tower porch was built in 1860 by the departmental architect Ozanne.

The Église Sainte-Quitterie de Gastes contains two wooden statues from the 17th century: a depiction of Saint Quitterie and a depiction of the Virgin Mary. The church also houses a painted polychrome wooden statue of Saint Quitterie from the first half of the 18th century. This statue was registered as a protected object on 11 September 2003.

The boat sheds of Gastes are notable heritage features and bear witness to the recent history of the town.
