Puisseguin: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Église Saint-Pierre in Puisseguin dates from the 12th century and was modified and extended in the 15th century. Its historic portal consists of a central door flanked by two false doors. By decree of 22 September 1914, the portal was classified as a Monument historique.

Culture and history

The seigneurial chapel of Château de Monbadon dates from the late 15th century and has a ribbed vault. Château de Monbadon stands on the western tip of a small peninsula. A moat separates it from the plateau; formerly, a drawbridge crossed it.

The approximately 15-kilometre-long medieval circular walk “Les satellites: Puisseguin” begins at the Église Saint-Pierre in the centre of Puisseguin. This walk presents Puisseguin as a strategically located place during the Hundred Years’ War.

The cycling route “Eglises et châteaux en Lussacais” is 32 kilometres long; a shorter version covers 26 kilometres. It passes through the Puisseguin and Lussac Saint-Émilion appellations. “Château et église de Monbadon” is listed as a sight on the route.
