Culture and history
Loupiac preserves an important archaeological site in the form of the Gallo-Roman villa. The archaeological site of the Gallo-Roman villa of Loupiac was entered in its entirety on the list of Monuments historiques by decree of 13 June 2024. The villa preserves the remains of a wealthy ancient residential complex with a peristyle, thermal baths, pools, a large swimming pool, galleries and mosaic-decorated floors.
Another defining building is the Église Saint-Pierre in Loupiac, which has been classified as a Monument historique since 1840. The church dates from the 12th century, has the layout of a Latin cross and a richly ornamented façade.
The Vieux château du Cros has been listed in the inventory of Monuments historiques since 1997. Construction of the medieval castle is said to have begun in 1155; remains from the 17th and 18th centuries have also survived.
Historical destinations can also be found in the immediate vicinity and surrounding area of Loupiac: the Château ducal de Cadillac-sur-Garonne, a château, is located nearby. The Château Benauge, the Château d'Yquem and Roquetaillade, each a château, as well as the Château de Malle park, are also located in the surrounding area.

Landscape
The medieval castle of the Vieux château du Cros was built on a hilltop in the 12th century and overlooks the Garonne Valley. From the promontory of the Vieux château du Cros, visitors can enjoy an exceptional view of the five appellations of sweet white wines: Loupiac, Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, Cérons, Barsac and Sauternes.
Wine
At the Château du Cros, visitors can enter the barrel cellars and the new tasting room and discover wines from the AOC Loupiac and Bordeaux. The Château du Cros welcomes visitors to the estate with or without a prior appointment. A footpath also runs between the medieval castle and the wine château, offering views of the Garonne.
