Montussan lies in the shade of its forests, amid its vineyards and in the surrounding valleys. The town is bordered by the La Laurence River; Montussan can be reached quickly via the A89 and the Bordeaux ring road.

Culture and History
The new Saint-Martin Church was opened for worship on 29 March 1903, even though it was still unfinished. The former fief of La Mothe-Montussan was divided by the Bordeaux–Vésone Roman road, which was used in the Middle Ages. A small paved section of the Gallo-Roman road is also still visible on the Route de la Rafette.
The washhouse was built during the interwar period and was an important place in community life. During walks, the history of the village of Montussan was explained, and cleaning work was carried out at a washhouse.
The historic site of Abbaye de Bonlieu de Carbon-Blanc, as well as the Cité du Vin, Musee d'Ethnographie and Musee d'Aquitane museums, are located in the vicinity of Montussan.
Cycling
The La Laurence mountain bike trail, consisting mainly of paths, is managed jointly with the Free Rider Club VTT. It passes through Saint-Sulpice-et-Cameyrac, Saint-Loubès, Yvrac, Montussan, Sallebœuf, Beychac-et-Caillau and Pompignac and covers 46, 36 or 23 kilometres, depending on the route selected. The trail was created by the club in 2010, approved by the Conseil Départemental and is currently managed by UFOLEP; training sessions take place there.
