Léguillac-De-L'auche: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At the Prieuré de La Faye, the buildings, the park with its surrounding wall, as well as the courtyard and the associated grounds, are fully protected as historic monuments. The Château de La Faye was originally an Augustinian priory built by five brothers in 1209 and was expanded and remodelled from the 13th to the 18th century. The Château du But consists of two sections dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, joined at right angles, as well as an addition from the 17th century. The Église Saint-Cloud is a 19th-century Neo-Romanesque church.

Culture

Older traces have also been preserved in the village: in Léguillac-de-l'Auche, three Merovingian burials, including two sarcophagi, were discovered in 1967. The remains of a motte castrale dating from before the 10th century have been preserved at the La Redoute site. An unusual connection to the village's more recent history is represented by the sculpture “Miss L'Auche Ness”. It depicts a goose playing the bagpipes, was created by Didier Teyssèdre, and is associated with the twinning agreement with Letham in Scotland.

The Site du But in Léguillac-de-l'Auche is a registered protected area. The landscape also includes the La Font de l'Auche spring, a Vaucluse spring that flows all year round.

Things to do

The Sentier de La Faye à Léguillac is an easy 6-kilometre circular hiking trail. It is marked in yellow and designated as a one- to two-hour circular route. The circular trail begins at the car park below the church in Léguillac-de-l'Auche. Halfway along the route is the hamlet of La Font de l'Auche, described as a picturesque and refreshing stopping point.
