Culture and History

The Église Saint-Jean de Bonneville was mainly built in the 15th and 16th centuries. It has been listed as a historic monument since 12 December 1986. It is also said to have belonged to the Order of Malta and to have been dependent on the Commanderie de Condat-sur-Vézère.

The Boucle des Fontaines is a 12 km circular route that starts in Bonneville-et-Saint-Avit-de-Fumadières. In the hamlet of Les Gauchers, the Fontaine aux gauchers and an old washhouse form a remarkable ensemble. The Fontaine aux gauchers was probably built to supply a Gallo-Roman villa. The Lavoir de Valadoux is one of the attractions along the local heritage route.
