In the village of Oderen, the Church of Saint Nicholas, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, overlooks the town from a rocky island. The present church was consecrated on April 27, 1786, by the Prince of Roggenbach, Bishop of Basel; it is the fourth church to have been built on the same hill.

The Notre Dame du Bon Secours Chapel dates back to the 17th century and is carved into the rock of Maerelberg. Also known as Maria Hilf, the chapel is well known for its pilgrimages.

The Bredalamark is one of the most important seasonal festivals in Oderen.

Landscape

Oderen is a mid-mountain municipality covering just under 2,000 hectares, half of which is forested. A panoramic trail created by the municipality of Oderen and local volunteers offers views of the valley and the landscapes of the upper Thur.

Station du Markstein offers opportunities for hiking as well as Nordic and alpine skiing.

The circular trail at Station du Markstein and along Route des Crêtes passes through mountain heathland and pastureland. Hikers may encounter mountain animals along the route.
