Nature and Trails

North of Rœschwoog lies the Roselière, a protected biotope and part of the protected Natura 2000 site. The bathing area at Staedly has a public sandy beach that is supervised by lifeguards seasonally at certain times.

Anyone planning a stay in RÅ“schwoog will want to rent a holiday apartment for it.

Several trails offer different highlights. The Rœschwoog Botanical Educational Trail begins behind the André-Weckmann School and is an easy, 1.5-kilometre walk taking around 45 minutes. The Trame Verte begins at the Route de l'étang and is an easy walk of about 1 kilometre, taking around 15 minutes. The Weckmann et la Moder circular trail begins at Rœschwoog railway station and is a moderately difficult, 15.5-kilometre walking trail through meadows, fields, wooded areas, ponds and cultivated land along the Moder.

Cycling Route and Railway

EuroVelo 15, the Rhine Cycle Route, passes through Rœschwoog. Rœschwoog railway station is on the Strasbourg–Lauterbourg TER line and has bicycle parking.

Culture and History

The present-day Saint-Barthélemy church building in Rœschwoog was built in 1767. The church organ is a work by Michel Stiehr classified as a historic monument. A chapel beside the church dates from the mid-16th century; the keystone of its Gothic vault bears the coat of arms of the Lords of Fleckenstein-Dagstuhl.

Two casemates of the Maginot Line can be seen in RÅ“schwoog.

In the wider surrounding area of Rœschwoog are Waldschloß, a castle, Hohenbaden, a ruin, and the Trinkhalle Baden-Baden, a historic site. The mountains Fremersberg, Iberg, Schartenberg and Leisberg are also located there. The parish church of St Peter and Paul in Bühl is likewise situated in the wider surrounding area.
