Neeruti: Hiking Trails, Eskers and Manor House

Neeruti is a destination for anyone who wants to combine nature, physical activity and culture. The Neeruti Landscape Reserve is designated as a protected area under the identifier KLO1000544. Hiking trails and ski tracks have been laid out around the area’s lakes and hills. Eskers, Lakes and a Challenging Trail

A distinctive landscape feature is the series of eskers running along the Neeruti Trail. These long formations, oriented from northwest to southeast, were formed more than 10,000 years ago. The Neeruti Nature Trail provides clear orientation. It starts and ends at the Eesjärve campsite. Camping is possible at the Eesjärve campsite. Neeruti Manor House, also known as Neeruti mõis, is privately owned and can generally only be viewed from a distance. The first references to Neeruti Manor House, known in German as Buxhöwden, date from 1406. At the same time, it is one of the most outstanding examples of Art Nouveau in Estonia. The note about the limited viewing possibilities is important for your planning: the manor house is suitable as a cultural and historical point of interest and as a destination to be viewed from the outside, not for unrestricted visits to the interior.
