Near Kalvi lies the permanent habitat of the green-spotted lichen, Biatoridium monasteriense, partly within the Aseri Landscape Protection Area.

As part of the protection of waters and their habitats, the village of Kalvi in Lääne-Viru County belongs to the protected area of the Pada River. The conservation objective covers river and stream habitats as well as the habitat of the European river lamprey, Lampetra fluviatilis. These natural features also make Kalvi interesting for visitors who want to plan a trip focused not only on the beach, but also on the landscape and biodiversity.

Paths, Beach and Route No. 5

For a walk, there is a signposted path that runs along an old road embankment parallel to the coast and leads to the RMK Kalvi lõkkekoht. An information board and a grill are available there. A parking area intended for vehicles and bicycles has also been expanded at Kalvi Beach.
