Skærbæk combines a hilly geest landscape with cultural history, viewpoints and proximity to the Wadden Sea National Park. The town lies between Ribe and Tønder in a fertile geest landscape. To the west, the marshland begins, while Skærbæk itself lies on sandy moraine soil from the penultimate Ice Age. The “Museum Skærbæk Wool spinning mill” is also Denmark’s oldest still-functioning wool-spinning mill.
