In addition, the Ringelnatter radar position at Houvig was reinforced with nine robust concrete bunkers from early 1943. It was under the Luftwaffe and included radar stations.

Around 50 bunkers are scattered throughout the Houvig area, in the dunes and along the beach. Some structures belonging to the Houvig Fortress are more or less hidden in the dunes. It is precisely this combination of visible and partly concealed traces that makes the site interesting for curious explorers.
