Østermarie: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Østermarie is home to a church built in 1891 beside the ruins of an older church dating from around 1225. The newer church is used for concerts by KulturBornholm and the Bornholm Music Festival. This provides a specific point of interest for visitors interested in church and music history.

Geographical location

Østermarie is a town in northeastern Bornholm, 10 km south of Gudhjem, 8 km west of Svaneke and 21 km east of Rønne.

Culture

There are four runestones in the Østermarie cemetery. The Østermarie Alphabet Stone was found at Jessegård, about 3½ km south of the town. It is a nearby cultural and historical feature, but not a monument within Østermarie.

Hullehavn, Sorte Gryde, Bornholm, Bodilskirke and Brændesgårdshaven are located in the surrounding area of Østermarie.
