Culture and history

The small Rococo Church of St. Adalbert stands in Račetice village square. It was built in 1770; inside, there is an original niche altar with a statue of St. Adalbert.

Račetice was founded by the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries at the latest. It may also have expanded rapidly thanks to its location at the crossroads of the Kadaň–Podbořany and Vilémov–Libědice routes.

The pilgrimage Vojtěchovská pouť took place in Račetice village square in 2011 and repeatedly from 2013 to 2016. The Cibulářský ples is a traditional dance event in Račetice.

Landscape and surroundings

Račetice is located in the Pooherská nížina lowland. The surrounding area includes Kolina Hill, the Svatý Prokop monument, Lipová Hill, the Zřícenina Lina ruins and Tok Hill.

The wider regional surroundings of Račetice include Mravenčák Hill and the Zřícenina Pravda ruins. Beside the evangelical chapel stands the Račetický dub summer oak, protected as a natural monument.

Local features

At the premises of Cibulárna Račetice, you can buy high-quality onions all year round, unless they are sold out.

The Račetice irrigation reservoir is considered suitable for swimming.
