Mikulášovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Museum of Knife-Making Tradition presents the historical development of the knife-making trade and knife production in Mikulášovice. It is located in the building of the Municipal Information Centre in the centre of Mikulášovice.

Culture and Architecture

The three-sided Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity is exceptional because of its location and architectural design. The Church of St Nicholas is a three-nave building measuring 50 metres in length, 20 metres in width and 18 metres in height. Numerous gravestones from the Baroque, Rococo and Classicist periods are set into its outer wall. The protected complex of the Church of St Nicholas includes the church, the Chapel of St Procopius, a mortuary, an enclosing wall, a covered staircase and a cast-iron cross.

The Mikulášovice Observatory is one of the cultural monuments of the town of Mikulášovice.

Nature and Trails

There is a drinking-water spring at the summit of Tanečnice. From the railway tracks towards the border, part of the town of Mikulášovice lies within the Labské pískovce Protected Landscape Area.

A signposted hiking trail connects Mikulášovice town square with Mikulášovice dolní railway station and is approximately 3.5 kilometres long. Railway line 084 runs from Rumburk via Panský to Mikulášovice.

Summer and Festive Days

The outdoor swimming pool in Mikulášovice provides children and adults with relaxation and summer water fun. The Knife Festivals take place on the penultimate Sunday in June in the courtyard of the Mikov factory in Mikulášovice. In Mikulášovice, a festive procession of riders sets off from the Church of St Nicholas after Mass and ends there again with a final performance.
