Ceská Kamenice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Česká Kamenice begins with a historic town center, which was declared an urban monument conservation area in 1992. The urban monument conservation area of Česká Kamenice includes a total of 34 immovable cultural monuments.

Culture and History

The three-aisled Gothic interior structure of the Church of St. James the Elder combines Rococo, Renaissance, and Neoclassical elements. During a guided tour, you can climb the 46-meter-high church tower and reach the balcony inside.

The pilgrimage chapel Poutní kaple Narození Panny Marie also creates a striking architectural accent: the round central building is considered an important example of Baroque architecture. Guided tours explain the history and significance of the pilgrimage site; visitors can also view the interior of the central building and the ambulatory with its four corner chapels. The family crypt of the Preidl family, built in 1868, is a valuable example of historicist sepulchral architecture.

A distinctive feature of the town is the glass astronomical clock Skleněný orloj. It is set in motion every day on the hour from 08:00 to 21:00.

Trails and Viewpoints

The highest viewpoint, Jehla, rises above the town. Its summit consists of pointed basalt columns and lies at an elevation of 487 meters. The Via Ferrata Uchem Jehly is a grade C via ferrata climbing route to the summit of the Jehla viewpoint.

The Okruh Vyhlídky–Brand circular trail begins at Náměstí Míru in the center of Česká Kamenice and follows the yellow trail markers. It is described as suitable for families with children and older visitors. The first stage of the Výroční stezka I. etapa Česká Kamenice–Prácheň–Češka trail also begins at Náměstí Míru in Česká Kamenice.

In the Rabštejnské údolí

The tunnels known as Werk C in the Rabštejnské údolí house a publicly accessible exhibition on the history of the Rabštejnské údolí. The valley is suitable for walking, cycling, and rollerblading.

A railway that primarily serves passenger transport still runs through the Rabštejnské údolí. The historic Sklářská lokálka to Kamenický Šenov also runs there.

Further Attractions

Mlýnky–Brand is freely accessible year-round and features small houses as well as interactive water elements. The site is located less than one kilometer from Náměstí; the path is also suitable for strollers and ride-on vehicles.
