Žebětín combines distinctive natural features with notable places in the district and its surroundings. The starting point of the “Picturesque Bobrava River Valley” walk is located in Žebětín. The Church of St Bartholomew is also a landmark of Brno-Žebětín.
Walks and nature
The starting point of the walk at Křivánkovo Square can be reached by city bus. In Žebětín, the Augšperský Stream and Žebětínský Pond are designated as natural monuments.
The Augšperský Stream natural monument is a breeding area for endangered bird species and a breeding site for amphibians. It comprises wet to marshy meadows on lime-free sediments in a narrow floodplain valley surrounded by forests, and provides a habitat for the great burnet orchid and amphibians. Žebětínský Pond and the adjacent wetland serve as a breeding site for numerous amphibians.
Surroundings
The Brno Zoo and the Helenčina studánka spring are located in the immediate surroundings of Žebětín. Zlobica Mountain is situated near Žebětín. Lužánky Park and the Osvobození orchards, a park, are also located in the surrounding area.
