Poresín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
In Poresín, the ruins of Pořešín Castle stand on a narrow, wooded rocky spur above the left bank of the Malše.
History and Museum
Pořešín Castle was founded at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries by members of the Bavorů ze Strakonic family as an administrative centre for their more distant possessions. A model of Pořešín Castle from around 1390 has been created.
The Pořešín Castle Museum provides information about medieval clothing and weapons. Authentic objects found at the castle are also on display: coins, a bone bead, part of a suit of armour, a knife, spurs, a barrel and the oldest surviving wooden beam.
Outer Bailey and Events
The outer bailey of Pořešín has been open to the public since 2021. It offers facilities for various activities related to life in the Middle Ages.
Events such as battle reenactments and medieval craft markets take place in the Pořešín outer bailey area throughout the year. The Pořešín Castle grounds also include a concert stage.
Paths along the Malše
