Hradiště: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The observation tower on Hradišťský vrch is 28 metres high and was opened to visitors in 2019. From the tower, there are views of the Bohemian Forest, the Gratzen Highlands and, in good visibility, as far as the Alps.

History

Hradišťský vrch is an important archaeological site located 500 metres north-northwest of the village of Hradiště. Part of the stone rampart from the original fortification ring of Hradišťský vrch has been preserved. The settlement of Hradiště near Kaplice was first mentioned in 1368.

Culture

The Trinity Column in Hradiště is more than 4.5 metres high and consists of a combination of granite and shell limestone. The Baroque Trinity ensemble in Hradiště dates from 1764 and is considered an example of the Throne of Mercy depiction originating from the Lower Austrian pilgrimage site of Sonntagberg. The Trinity ensemble in Hradiště has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958.

Paths and Educational Trails

The observation tower on Hradišťský vrch is accessible year-round and free of charge. A blue-marked hiking trail from Hradiště reaches the observation tower on Hradišťský vrch after approximately 2 kilometres.

The new educational trail around Suchý and Hradišťský vrch was officially opened on 11 August. It includes information panels with QR codes as well as simple observation tasks for children. The Údolím Černé educational trail has nine stations. A yellow-marked hiking trail from Hradiště leads to the Soběnov Reservoir and the Údolím Černé educational trail.

The “Na zříceninu Sokolčí a na rozhlednu” route can lead to Dluhoště via the main road to Hradiště and from there onward to the observation tower on Hradišťský vrch.
