Obytce lies at the foot of the Plánický hřeben ridge. Several mountains and hills are located in the surrounding area.
Culture and History
Obytce Chateau stands on the site of an originally Gothic fortress first mentioned in 1543. In the 18th century, it was converted into a single-storey Baroque chateau with U-shaped arcades facing the courtyard. Obytce is also home to a memorial lime tree that is more than 400 years old.
The Chapel of St Barbara dates from the 17th century. This Baroque chapel stands on a rise above Obytce. In the forest above Hoštičky, at an altitude of 600 metres, is the small Klenovka Chapel, which is surrounded by local legends.
The Pomník Suchých monument stands near the former U Suchých inn in Obytce.
Landscape and Trails
The mountains of Buzrakov (Plánický hřeben), Úliště [Javor - Loučany] and Běleč are located around Obytce. The Lopata [Obytce] hill is also situated nearby.
