In Děpoltice stands the Church of St. Isidore, which has been a protected immovable cultural monument since 1958. It was built in 1805 on the site of an earlier chapel from 1751, which was also dedicated to St. Isidore.
Culture and History
The Church of St. Isidore is also incorporated into the routes around Děpoltice. The educational trail “In the Footsteps of the Carters” has seven stations, one of which is the church.
Hiking Trails Around Děpoltice
Stage 9 of the Golden Trail from Javorná to Nýrsko passes the Church of St. Isidore in Děpoltice and then continues along the educational trail “In the Footsteps of the Carters”. Another route is the marked circular hiking trail “Around Nýrsko via Děpoltice”: it is 19.3 kilometres long and of moderate difficulty. From Děpoltice, it follows a green-marked hiking trail around Želivský vrch to the settlement of Blata.
Nature and Landscape
Děpoltice is located in the Šumava Protected Landscape Area. Cycle Route 2047 connects Děpoltice, Dešenice and Nýrsko.
Regional Surroundings
Neunussberg Castle Ruins are located in the wider regional surroundings of Děpoltice. Můstek, Úliště [Javor - Loučany], Lovečná and Jägerhübel are also part of these wider regional surroundings; each is a mountain. The Bayerwald-Tierpark Lohberg, a zoo, is also located in the vicinity of Děpoltice.
