Razová: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Razová is situated on the left bank of the Slezská Harta Reservoir, which offers opportunities for swimming. Water, geological features and traces of local history are found in close proximity here.

Water and Landscape

The Vápenná pec educational trail begins on the outskirts of Razová, at a bay on the left bank. Basic thermal habitats with warmth-loving plant species have developed on the old quarry walls of the Razovské tufity; these species do not occur elsewhere in the surrounding area.

The Razovské tufity expose a 12-metre-thick layer of pyroclastic sediments. These were probably deposited in the bay of a periodically existing lake during the volcanic activity of Velký Roudný at the end of the Tertiary or the beginning of the Quaternary.

Historical Traces

The first surviving written records of Razová date from 1288. The Památná lípa was designated a protected tree in 2005; its estimated age is 200 years.

The Vápenná pec is located about 2 km from Razová in the direction of Leskovec and was built in 1912 for burning lime. It was opened to the public in 2001 and is now a technical monument. Volcanic tuffites were also extracted in two sandstone quarries near Razová and processed into decorative stone.
