Cakova: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Čaková is a mountain municipality that stretches for five kilometres along the valley of the Čakovský potok and almost reaches the foot of the 628-metre-high Chlum. The village has preserved the character of a foothills settlement; the inhabitants’ main occupation was agriculture.

Nature

The hilly, wooded surroundings of Čaková offer good conditions for gathering mushrooms, raspberries and blackberries. Trout and grayling are caught in the Čakovka stream.

Culture and History

The first written mention of Čaková dates from 1498. The local folk architecture includes the wooden, prismatic bell tower dating from 1754. It is also the only protected monument in the municipality of Čaková.

Leisure

Cycle route No. 6161 runs from Lesní mlýn via Nové Heřminovy to Čaková. The U jelena pond in Krásné údolí is used for fishing and recreation.

Getting There

A local mountain road branches off from the road from Krnov to Bruntál towards Čaková and continues in the direction of Krasov. At the Wellness Chata Čakovka, there is a covered, heated saltwater pool, which operates from May to September.
