A marked hiking trail leads from Malá Víska near Hořovice to the Jindřichova skála viewpoint. The rock face there is up to 21 metres high, with a sea of rocks made of Cambrian conglomerates below it. From the viewpoint, you can look across the valley of the Červený potok to Valdek Castle.
Nature
Jindřichova skála was designated as a small-area protected site in the Mittelbrdy Hills. Several endangered lichen species occur at Jindřichova skála; they prefer sunny scree slopes.
History
The first written reference to Malá Víska dates from 1520. Malá Víska originally developed as a settlement of woodcutters and charcoal burners who worked in the forests of the Hořovice estate for the Komárov ironworks.
Valdek, a castle ruin with archaeological traces, is located in the vicinity of Malá Víska. Valdek was already described as dilapidated in 1623. From a car park in Neřežín, Valdek can be reached via a marked footpath of less than 2 kilometres.
The CE “Jordán” structure was built in 1936. It is a prototype construction that has been preserved practically in its original condition and is an important record of the military history of the Czechoslovak Republic.
Local Character
Malá Víska comprises two parts, located about 300 metres apart at an altitude of 552 metres. A stream flows through Malá Víska; it springs from a forest source called “Belu”, located about 300 metres south of the village.
