Hýskov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Hýskov lies in the Berounka Valley on the left bank of the river, surrounded by a wooded landscape. A footbridge connects the two banks of the Berounka here; the cycle path from Nižbor to Beroun also runs through the area. As early as the Middle Ages, the Královská cesta from Karlštejn Castle towards Křivoklát passed through Hýskov.

Nature

The Naučný park replaced a former landfill and opened in 2015. It includes a path lined with trees, plants and herbs, as well as information boards about the local nature. The park also offers a place to relax, a beautiful view of Hýskov and a pleasant setting for spending free time in nature.

Culture

The restored birthplace of František Nepil opened in 2015 as the Spolkové a informační centrum Hýskov. The centre houses a permanent exhibition featuring works by František Nepil, preserved memorabilia, readings and information about him; it is also used by the public for cultural events and exhibitions.

The “Poznáváme Hýskov” educational trail consists of two independent circular routes that start in the village square. The trail conveys the history and legends of Hýskov, the meanings of local field names, and the municipality’s natural attractions.

Events

Hýskov hosts the recurring night event “Noční soutěž mladých hasičů”: a nighttime firefighting attack competition for children and young people.
