Černošice features public spaces along the Berounka, a wide range of sports activities and a remarkable architectural history. Černošice railway station is located on line 171 between Prague and Beroun.
River Landscape and Nature
Černošice lies on the border of the Český kras Protected Landscape Area. The Staňkovka Nature Reserve is located near Černošice. It encompasses the steep, wooded left bank of the Berounka valley on the edge of the Třebotovská plošina between Radotín, Mount Sulava, which is 341.6 m high, and Černošice.
Activities and Exercise
The municipal Městská pláž Černošice bathing area is located on the Berounka below the Mokropsy weir and is used for swimming, sunbathing and sports. The bathing area has a beach volleyball court and a pétanque area.
The skatepark and bikross track in Černošice-Mokropsy are suitable for freestyle BMX, freestyle MTB, skateboarding and inline skating.
Architecture and History
The Fröhlichova letní vila at Střední 360 was designed by Jan Kotěra in 1902–1903. As an early work by Kotěra, it combines influences of contemporary English villa architecture with traditional Czech folk art. The Kratochvílova vila at Karlštejnská 282 is one of the most significant buildings in Černošice and was built in 1908–1909 according to a design by the architect Jan Kotěra.
The medieval Church of the Assumption of Our Lady in Černošice has been altered many times; a radical transformation took place at the beginning of the 18th century. The Church of the Assumption of Our Lady in Černošice is a single-nave, oriented building with a right-angled, recessed chancel and a prismatic tower with a polygonal termination on the central axis of the façade.
Myslivna Na Stráži is a small Rondocubist building from 1924, constructed according to a design by the builder Ing. Otakar Nypl. The villa at Střední 403 is a two-storey, early Art Nouveau villa by the architect Osvald Polívka.
Events and Winter
Sportpark Berounka is a freely accessible grassy area by the river next to the cycle route, used for recreation and holding events. The traditional Mariánská pouť in Černošice begins on the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, on Saturday, 15 August; on 15 and 16 August, there is a programme of music and theatre, a fair and amusement rides in front of the church and in Sportpark Berounka.
From 27 September 2023, times for public skating were reserved at Zimní stadion Černošice on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
