Nature

Bukež pebble beach is located on a quiet stretch of coast at the end of Drage. There, the sea is clear and transparent, and there are also views of Velika Arta and Mala Arta. Porat Beach has a pebble seabed that allows for easy access to the sea. Pedal boat trips and a water park are available at Porat Beach.

Lake Vrana is located about one kilometre from Drage; newly constructed cycle paths around the lake are available for active visitors. The nautical marina in Drage serves as a starting point for excursions and visits to the nearby national parks.

Activities

A cycling route in Vransko jezero Nature Park leads through the hinterland of Drage and Pakoštane towards Crkvine. The Put jezera route is 7.3 kilometres long and classified as moderately difficult.

The Čelinka viewpoint above Drage offers views of Lake Vrana, the islands of the Pakoštane archipelago and the Kornati Islands. Čelinka can be reached on foot from Drage. The Bedemska staza runs along Poškaljina Bay from Drage to Pakoštane through olive groves and pine forest.

Culture and Tradition

Archaeological remains of a Liburnian hillfort on Čelinka bear witness to the strategic importance of the site.

Dragarske bumbete is a traditional summer festival in Drage, held in the glow of the fishing lanterns known as “bumbete”. The fishing lights used on boats are called “dragarske bumbete”; the fishermen who use light fishing are known as “svićari” and are widely renowned. At the festival, fish with homemade olive oil, local wine, Prošek, rakija, traditional dishes prepared according to time-honoured recipes and traditional sweet treats are offered.
