Kava - zapad in Okrug Donji received the highest Croatian and EU classifications for bathing water quality in 2025. Stari Porat is a pebble beach with natural shade from nearby trees. Route 35: Mistika otoka is a road cycling route with 565 metres of elevation gain; its length is stated as 33.6 kilometres, and its route includes Okrug Donji. Okrug Donji is also included in ÄŒiovo Bike 4, a route connecting Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji and allowing cycling through the Okrug area and the island's Mediterranean landscape.
Culture and History
The Chapel of Saint John the Baptist is located in Okrug Donji on the old road leading to the coast and the port of Stari Porat. It is believed to have been built in the 16th century. The single-nave building has a rectangular apse, a moulded lintel, a rose window and, above the entrance, a bell gable featuring Late Renaissance stylistic elements. The dedication of the chapel to John the Baptist is interpreted in connection with the long-standing hermit tradition on ÄŒiovo.
The historic Kave quarry supplied the stone for the bell tower of Trogir Cathedral.
