Culture between Brela and Gornja Brela

It runs along the slopes of Biokovo at an altitude of 357 to 444 metres above sea level, with a gradient of no more than 6 percent. The Church of Gospe od Zdravlja is in Gornja Mala in Gornja Brela and has been designated a protected cultural property since 1988. In Brela, above Soline, stands the Baroque Church of Gospe od Karmela, also known as Gospa od Pobjede. It is set on an enclosed plateau surrounded by pine trees. Routes for different kinds of holiday days
For a hike along a clearly defined route, the easy SV. NIKOLA trail is a good option. It is about 6.5 kilometres long and runs from Gornji Kričak via the Chapel of Sv. Kajo, Nevistina stina and the Church of Sv. Nikole, returning to Gornji Kričak. The approximate distance and named stops can help you fit this circular route into your day’s plans. The similarly easy TOPIĆI route follows a different course: it starts at Gornji Kričak, goes via Topići down to Baška Voda and then follows the sea back to Brela. You can choose between a loop returning to its starting point and a route that passes several named places and follows the seafront.
There is also a specific option for active travellers who prefer to cycle: the Transverzala Makarskom rivijerom runs from Brela to Gradac. The cycling route is 63.2 kilometres long and classified as moderate. If you prefer climbing, the Penjalište Brela sport climbing area has routes ranging from easier sections for beginners to more challenging routes of intermediate difficulty. Each activity offers a different focus: hiking, a longer bike ride or climbing.
A local flavour
One of the local culinary specialities is Blitvenjak, a traditional cake from Brela made with Swiss chard.
