Flengi: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Cycling

The cycling route Riznica baštine includes Flengi in its route. It runs from Vrsar via Kloštar, Sveti Lovreč, Hrvatini, Draguzeti, Barat, Mrgani, Poreč and Funtana before returning to Vrsar.

The MTB tour Faragude Kontija follows a 27-kilometre route through Vrsar, Funtana and Flengi. It is classified as moderately difficult; 22.9 kilometres run on macadam. The tour also passes through disused branches of the active Kirmenjak quarry and connects to the regional St. Becic bike park.

Nature

The Šuma Kontija lies nearby, between Kloštar, Gradina and Flengi, and covers 65 hectares. The forest has well-maintained hiking and cycling trails as well as picnic areas. Šuma Kontija has been designated a forest reserve since 1964.

The Hillfort Mukaba is also located nearby, in the forest of Kontija. Prehistoric fortification remains made of dry-stone masonry are visible there.

History and culture

Flengi was connected to the estate of Saint Michael in Kloštar, was later abandoned following epidemics of plague, and was resettled in 1541 by Croatian refugees from Dalmatia.

The Chapel of Our Lady in Flengi stands on the border of the parishes of Fuškulin and Gradina. It was intended as a sign of faith, an adornment of the village and a marker for passers-by.
