Šumber’s historic settlement structure developed above the Raša Gorge around a medieval castle and a lower castle district. The settlement includes a rustic former town loggia and the Baroque parish church of Saints John and Paul.

The parish church of Saints John and Paul stands on the edge of Šumber above the Raša Gorge. The present building dates from 1679; side chapels were added in 1705.

A Gothic chapel dedicated to Saint Quirinus is located in Šumber’s cemetery. Its surviving structure preserves a Glagolitic inscription from 1540 referring to roof repairs.
